Sonam Kapoor famous as Sakina born on June 9, 1985 is an New Indian film actress who appears in Bollywood movies. Born to Bollywood's super actor Anil Kapoor and his wife Sunita Kapoor, Sonam was brought up in a truly filmy ambience. One of her uncles Boney Kapoor is a film producer and another uncle Sanjay Kapoor is an actor. She grew up with a passion to become an actress in her own right one day.

Before starting her career off as an actress, Kapoor worked as an assistant under Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and assisted him during the making of his film, Black (2005).
Early Days of Sonam Kapoor career
Sonam Kapoor was hit the screens with her romantic magnum opus movie "Saawariya" produced by one of the Hollywood's famous production houses, Sony Pictures. She was cast in a lead character opposite another star-debutant Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor nee Singh. The movie was directed by renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is based on a short story, 'White Nights' written by Fyodor Dostoevsky. But film failed to do well at the box office. Her performance was opened to good response by most critics.
