The year that saw the releases of some of the biggest and the most
hyped New Movies in Bollywood, has come to an end. Now, it’s time to
look back at some of the latest releases and how did they fared at the
box office, and also to look at the movies that are yet to be released.
This year again belonged to the Khans. With no movies of Amir Khan
hitting the floors, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were the biggest
winners.In the last couple of months, some of the biggest releases
happened in the tinsel town. Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer
Bodyguard released on the Occasion of Eid, and that proved to be a
blessing in disguise, as the movie proved to be the biggest grosser ever
in Bollywood on the day of the release.
The movie broke all the records, as the collections just kept on
increasing. It was a misunderstood love story between a bodyguard and
his mistress, but the people totally understood the feelings and made it
one of the biggest hits of Bollywood. After this, it was the turn of
the King Khan to steal the show. Ra One, the most expensive movie ever
to be made in Bollywood, was produced by King Khan himself. The movie
was a hi-tech, mega budget and a star studded movie. Arjun Rampal played
the title role; Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor were the leading pair.
This movie again proved the domination of King Khan and broke records
after records and it was a big hit even in the international markets.
After the Khans, it was time for Ranbir Kapoor to take centre stage.
Rockstar was a musical love story, with A.R. Rahman providing refreshing
and soothing tunes that proved to be the biggest chart busters.
The movie was a serene and beautiful love story by Imtiaz Ali. Early
December saw the release of Dirty Picture which is based on the
professional and personal life of the South Indian actor Silk Smitha.
The character of Silk was played by Vidya Balan and her performance was
critically acclaimed. Shahrukh Khan Starrer Don2 released on Christmas
and with the tag line, The King is back, the movie is still running with
packed theatres and is liked by all. So, the second half of the year
was a boon for the industry, as the biggest Bollywood Movies made
headlines.
The last year ended on a good note for Bollywood with Don2 making it
big at the box office. This New Year will again see the Latest Hindi
Movies making the news. Players, an action thriller by Abbas-Mustan will
be released in the first week of January. The movie is based on a
robbery and has a lot of thrills and actions. Then, Agneepath is
releasing in the second week, which is a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan
Starrer. The movie has Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead
role and Sanjay Dutt is playing the scary Villain. This year will again
be a big year for the movie buffs and bollywood, with a lot of big
movies hitting the floor, fate will decide that who is top and who is
not.
