Traditional Bangla Movies

Traditional Bangla Movies history is very wealthy.It’s start on 1890s in Calcutta by Hiralal Sen. He was producing that movies but exhibiting was Royal Bioscope Company. The Bradford Bioscope Company shown in Dhaka first film at the crown theatre in patuatuli, near Shadarghat, on 24 April, 1898. ‘Picture House’ is first permanent cinema in Dhaka, began operation during 1913-1914. ‘Sukumari’(1928) and ‘The last kiss’ (1931) produced by The Nawab family of Dhaka. The first full length movies with sound made after partition of India (1947) was “Mukh O Mukhush”, it was produced by Abdul Jabbar Khan and exhibit on 3 August, 1956. Printing, Editing, and all processing in this movies was done in Lahore of Pakistan. The organization of East Pakistan Film Development Corporation (EPFDC) was established on April 3, 1957’. This organization produced the first film was ‘Asiya’( A life of village girl,1960 ), directed by Fateh Lohani.
Bangladesh gained it’s Independence on December 16, 1971. Then Increase production quantity, for example over 50 movies released per year. Next time 1990s over 90 films published per year. The movies ‘Titash Ekti Nadir Nam’ was first produced in Bangladesh after independence 1973 by Ritwik Ghatak. We saw next time improved our Traditional Bangla Movies by grateful directors Satyjit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Zahir Raihan, Khan Ataur Rahman, Alamgir Kabir. Satyjit Ray gives us many popular movies; one grateful film is called ‘Pather Pachali’.Uttam Kmar and Sochitra Sen is great hero and heroin of bengal film.
After 1990s our Traditional Bangla Movies established high commercial view. We saw many commercial demanded movies produced one by one. When we got ‘Bedher Meye Jyostna’ directed by Tozammel Haque Bokol. A freedom fighter Masud Parvez produced by ‘Ora Egaro Jan’ a real life story about eleven freedom fighter. Next time our Traditional Bangla Movies damaged near about 2000s, because of copyright Bollywood movies and some naked film produced and directed by bad, Immature, Rubbish Director and producer. But Now our film industry stand on nice environment. After 2010s all film story is very good and demandable. At this moment we got beautiful director and producer, name list is big, “Morshedul Islam, Salahuddin Lovlu, Moztofa Sarwar Faruki, Amitab Reza, Radwan Rony, Ananta, Devashish Biswash” and others. Our great writer, director and producer Homayon Ahmed gives new platform of our Traditional Bangla Movies. But recently we lost him.
Traditional Bangla Movies gives us many greatest legend hero name of Raz Razzaq, Farok Ahmed, Shohel Rana, Elias Kanchan, Anower Hossain. We are lost many hero, name is Jasim, Jafar Iqbal, Salman Shah, Manna, Bulbul Ahmed. Present time our film industry lead by Shakib Khan, Riaz, Ferdouz, Ananta, Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhory, Misha Soudaghar. Our legend singers Runa Laila, Sabina Yesmin, Ferdhosi Rahman, Andru Kishor, Subhir Nandi, Abdul Jabbar, Khordhed Alom, Syed Abdul Hadi and others, they are establish by bangla films. We got very remarkable song like as “Ore nil Dharia, Sob kota janala Khole Dhaona, Tomi ki dhekeso kovho, Nil akaser niche ami rasta cholesi eka”. Our some films invited by foreign country. We are proud of Matir Moyna, Shasti, Most Welcome, Gharila, Ghetu Potra Komola, Srabon Megher Din.
